This week we sit down with Habib Ghantous, Neorcha’s Director of Projects and Development.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
As a proactive project director with over 9 years of development and 6 years of project management experience, I am well-known for my ability to build effective teams and design new ways to streamline internal operations. I have vast experience in web and mobile development, as well as project management. In a similar vein, I prefer to be familiar with architecture, research and development, and other essential areas necessary for project success.
What is the best part of your job as a Director of Projects and Development?
Being a Director of Projects and Development offers a unique set of challenges and prospects for me split into two categories that are in the end of course dependent on one another, First one has an organizational context such as innovation and tech, R&D, problem solving and decision making, project delivery and success, while the second has a more personal preference such as team empowerment, professional growth, team collaboration, and work-life balance practices, Ultimately, the best aspects of being in the IT industry depend on individual priorities, values, and career goals, it is essential to find fulfillment in contributing to the success of projects, and ultimately the organization, while helping the team to grow, mature, and improve on a daily basis.
What do you see as the biggest technology trend in hospitality in 2024 and beyond?
I think for me it is mainly AI and smart solution:
AI is always evolving, and it is becoming a part of all kinds of industries around the world, it has become a part of the hospitality sector through multiple areas, from generative AI to chatbots, and especially in analytics and this is playing a huge role in improving the pricing optimization, demand forecast, and guest experience.
On another hand, since the world is driven towards digital technologies, smart solution can grant the guests control of their environment during their stay from their own mobile devices such as smart lighting, temperature control, curtains, TV control, …etc, which is also a digital solution we provide at Neorcha through our Hotel app.
What is the favorite destination you like to visit?
My primary destination is Europe, notably Paris/France, which is now familiar to all of my friends and family. I travel primarily to see friends and family and then choose another destination in Europe to visit before returning home.
What is your own personal favorite technology gadget when traveling?
I think a high-quality smart phone can be both indispensable and sufficient at the same time, you can use the cam to capture memories, and the phone for maps, informational internet use, and contacting family.
